Trailer of MADE IN TRENCHTOWN. The film is the product of a participatory video project with three teenagers from Trenchtown, about the challenges of growing up in one of Kingston’s marginalized inner city communities.

Short film SOMEBODY’S JOB. “From when I was very young… my parents bought me a toy projector, you know, and you turned the handle on it and put a picture on the screen and it always got me interested in it. So I said to my mother, is this like somebody’s job?”

Excerpt of ZO ZIJN WIJ SAMEN – this way we are together. The filmmakers parents have to find new ways of being together after father had a stroke. Mother and father tell their youngest daughter, the filmmaker, their perspective on all that has changed in their lives.

Short film CIGARBOX GUITAR. Tom & Peter enjoy making cigarbox guitars together. Peter plays also the piano. He is thinking of joining a school band. Will Tom be allowed to join the band with his cigarbox guitar?

Short film PETER & BLACKBEARD. Ten-year-old Peter shares with us the imaginary world in which he plays with Blackbeard, a doll made by his grandmother. His mother’s response after seeing it: “I thought I knew my son well, but about this I had no idea!”

Short film TOM & ACTION MAN. As a little boy Action Man reminded Tom that one day he would be to old to play with toys. This saddened him, until he found a creative solution to this problem…

REAL GHETTO PEOPLE is a film by Diamond Guscott. Diamond is 14 years old and this is her first film. She enjoys filming because: “…it gives attention to people.”

SOME OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS OF MY LIFE is a film by Stephan Campbell. Stephan is 13 years old and this is his first film. Stephan: “I call it The Most Important Things Of My Life. Oh no, Some Of The Most Important Things Of My Life, because my mother is not in it.”

MY LIFE IN TRENCHTOWN is a film by Philomena Barrett. Philomena turns 11 years old during the making of this film, which is her first. She says: “It is a really great film, hard work was put into so… enjoy the film!”.

Short animated film SINDY. “My mum bought me this Sindy doll for my birthday and I walked around with her everywhere… Oh it made my mum so happy because she wanted me to wear dresses and play with dolls and I never ever did”.
